The Author
LaTanya Winston was born in Washington, D.C., and educated in the public school system of the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County, Maryland. She was an honor graduate of Bowie State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Media. While at Bowie, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper, “The Spectrum.” She continued her education at American University, where she was a candidate for a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing. LaTanya was a very creative and gifted writer of poetry, short stories, and prayers. Her first book of poems, “Odyssey to
Life,” was copyrighted in 1995. Her book “Journey of Deliverance” was published post-humorously in 2014 after her sudden death due to complications from surgery.
The Compiler
Sandra Winston was born in Washington, D.C., and educated in the DC public school system. She is now retired from her senior leadership position with the federal government and continues to be actively involved in her church and facilitating grief support groups. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and Liberty University with degrees in Legal Studies and Psychology: Christian Counseling, respectfully.
